Contemporary Art Dealers of Dallas presents
CADD BUS TOUR
Saturday, January 25, 2020 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm
For Immediate Release – Contemporary Art Dealers of Dallas is excited to announce the January 25th Bus Tour. Initiated in 2010, these popular bus tours offer participants unique access to Dallas’ most esteemed sites for contemporary art. On January 25th, Art Collectors and Patrons are presented with a Rare Opportunity to experience a seasoned collector’s home, exclusive vignettes of a corporate collection, and two well-established CADD Galleries, Erin Cluley Gallery and Conduit Gallery.
CADD’s Bus Tour on Saturday, January 25th is from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. The tour begins promptly at 1:00 p.m. at Erin Cluley Gallery, 150 Manufacturing Street, Suite 210, in the Dallas Design District where guests will meet Dallas based artist Marilyn Jolly and view works in her newest exhibition. Jolly’s work explores her personal relationship with time, evolving from day to day tasks into a lifetime of routine. The surfaces, often weathered or consisting of multiple layers, allude to the passage of time. www.erincluley.com
The next highlight of the tour will be a visit to Conduit Gallery. Guests will view Offering, a collaborative exhibition of new work on paper by Dallas-based Matt Clark and Oaxaca, Mexico, artists Jacobo & María Ángeles; new gouache on paper papers in Mind Travel by Dallas-based Susan Barnett; and Jules Buck Jones: Birds of America, an installation in the project room of charcoal drawings of the birds of North America. www.conduitgallery.com
From the Design District, the bus will head Downtown to the 400 Record building where the Hartland-Mackie and Labora Collections are housed. In addition to a tour of the award-winning Bullion Restaurant designed by Swedish architect Martin Brudnizki, exclusive access to the building’s high level floors will give guests the opportunity to see works commissioned specifically for the building by Carol Bove, Daniel Arsham, Michael Chambers, Jean-Michel Othoniel, and Kathryn Andrews. Other highlights of the collection include Alex Israel, Dana Schutz, Jennifer Guidi, Aaron Curry, and Nate Lowman.
The tour will head north to Preston Hollow for its final stop to visit the home of Dallas Art Fair cofounder John Sughrue and his wife Marlene. With 30 years of collecting, guests will be able to see works by celebrated artists like Sheila Hicks, Xylor Jane, Liam Gillick, and Anna Membrino. The Sughrues will give guests insight about what gets them excited about collecting and about their shared interest in the arts community in Dallas.
